Configure your own API credentials for AliExpress and CJDropshipping for automated fulfillment.
API Settings & Automation
While manual dropshipping works perfectly well, connecting your own API credentials unlocks automation features that save time as your business scales.
Manual vs. API Fulfillment
- Manual (Default) — You visit the supplier website, place the order manually, and enter the tracking number yourself. No API credentials needed. Best for beginners and low-volume sellers.
- API (Advanced) — Orders are automatically forwarded to the supplier via API. Tracking numbers sync automatically. Best for high-volume sellers who want hands-off fulfillment.
Setting Up AliExpress API
- Create a business account at aliexpress.com.
- Register on AliExpress Open Platform at openservice.aliexpress.com.
- Create a new App — select "Dropshipping" as the application type.
- Wait for approval (typically 1–3 business days).
- Copy your App Key and App Secret from the app details page.
- Go to your Vendor Dashboard → Dropshipping → API Settings.
- Paste the credentials and save.
Setting Up CJDropshipping API
- Create an account at cjdropshipping.com.
- Navigate to Account Settings → API / Developer section.
- Request API access (usually approved within 24 hours).
- Copy your API Key.
- Enter it in your Vendor Dashboard → Dropshipping → API Settings.
Warning: When using API automation, the supplier charges your account directly. Make sure you have sufficient funds in your AliExpress wallet or CJ wallet balance. If payment fails, the auto-order will not go through and you'll need to fulfill manually.
Tip: You don't need your own API to start dropshipping. The platform provides shared API access for product search and import. Personal API credentials are only needed for automated order fulfillment.
Note: Keep your API credentials secure and never share them with anyone. If you suspect your keys have been compromised, regenerate them immediately on the supplier's platform and update them in your settings.
